LEGENDS 2001 was a huge success!  Over 500 people enjoyed this year's tour.  Just look at those crowds! More pictures are forthcoming, and maybe (if I can get the file small enough) even some video!

Greetings, Ladies and Gentlemen, Boos and Ghouls, and welcome to Legends in the Dark, a haunting tour of campus un-life! For four years, the campus of Central Michigan University found itself haunted every Devil's Night by sprit-ed students of the LEGENDS IN THE DARK tour. LEGENDS was a haunted tour of campus, where ghoulish tour guides walked the haunted paths of the University, telling the legends and lore of the college and trying to keep safe from the things that might be lurking in the shadows ... The original LEGENDS tour was organized by Allison Batdorf, a student and Resident Assistant, in 1995. The tour was so wildly successful that she organized it again in 1996; and when she had graduated, Todd Price organized it in 1997, and Jaymie Haney took the reins in 1998. Every year the tour was paid for through generous donations and support from the Residence Hall Assembly (RHA), various Hall Councils, and individual contributions. 1999's LEGENDS tour was cancelled due to lack of funding (and, some would argue, poor management).  The tour was revived again in 2000, this time by the Trout Residence Hall Council.  The 2000 tour, while smaller in scale and promotion than in years' past, was a moderate success.  Trout Hall will be conducting the tour again in 2001.   Taking the tour ... The LEGENDS IN THE DARK tour takes between twenty minutes and one half-hour, normally. Visitors are guided along the tour by a ghastly tour guide, a storyteller who tells the legends and lore of the campus and the surrounding city. The tour encompasses the northern half of campus--the older part of the University, with many of the buildings dating back to before 1950--and hit most of the sites shown on the CMU GHOST MAP.
