Every area has its legends, its lore, its tales of things strange and arcane. Central Michigan University and its surroundings are no different. This is a database of ghost stories and related tales and folklore from CMU and Isabella County, Michigan. Are these tales merely legend? Are they true? No one knows. Perhaps only you can decide for sure . . . Portions of this database are taken from a semester project I completed for Professor Gerald Carter, and the wealth of information held by the Resident Assistants of CMU. LEGENDS IN THE DARK is also a yearly haunted tour; it takes place every October 30th, and features many of these stories told by ghoulish tour guides on a haunted campus. ----Brian P. Hudson, October 02, 1998
